Education…. Think about it.

I encourage you to think about your education, or those of your children. We don’t live in the same world we once did, and the education system should not be the same as it once was…

Of course we need school, but we also need choices. People passionate about math, english, the sciences should have all power to pursue that, but those who don’t should not be punished or forgotten. Each individual should think about what they want to get out of their education, and not just mindlessly follow the path that is believed to lead to success. I’ve been told not to pursue art. I’ve felt bad about myself for not being as “book smart” as other students. I’ve worried about my future because I’m “not getting a useful degree.” I could go on and on about the public education system, and testing, and funding and favoritism, but I think the admirable Sir Ken Robinson has covered it all.
